Illinois Central College Continues Enrollment Growth for Fourth Consecutive Semester
East Peoria, IL (02/10/2025) — Illinois Central College (ICC) recently announced an increase in enrollment for the spring 2025 semester, marking the fourth straight semester of growth. As of February 6, ICC enrolled 7,606 students, an increase of 7.2% over spring 2024. Additionally, students registered for 3,197 more credit hours than last year, a 5.6% increase.
This sustained growth reflects the College's ongoing commitment to student success and accessibility. In recent years, ICC has implemented key initiatives to remove barriers to enrollment and completion. By reevaluating placement testing and adopting more effective assessment strategies, ICC has reduced the number of students placed in developmental courses by 66%, leading to stronger academic outcomes. Enhancements to academic advising, streamlined student services, and the introduction of new academic programs in IT and Electric Vehicles have further improved the student experience.
"We are excited to welcome so many new students to ICC, and we look forward to supporting them throughout their educational journeys," said Dr. Sheila Quirk-Bailey, President of ICC. "Our focus is the success of all of our students whether they plan to transfer to a university or earn a credential with labor market value. This continued increase in enrollment validates our efforts to remove barriers to student engagement, completion, transfer, and employment, which are making a real impact."
