The Illinois Central College Livestock Judging Team recently won second place overall team honors at the North Central Meat Animal Evaluation Contest in Madison, Wisconsin. Local members of the team include:

The Illinois Central College livestock judging team recently competed in the 2013 National Picture Judging Contest sponsored by the National Swine Registry. Open to youth and adult participants, the contest includes divisions for 4-H, FFA, and collegiate teams. Participants had to rank classes of swine from photos published in the Registry's December 2012 issue of Seedstock Edge. Of the 23 collegiate teams who competed, Illinois Central College teams placed first and fifth overall. Western Illinois University placed second, and teams from Black Hawk College - East Campus placed third and fourth. Locally, these students were honored:

The Illinois Central College Speech Team recently won the silver medal in its division at the Phi Rho Pi National Speech Tournament in Anaheim, California. The team also won sixth place honors over all teams in the competition. Local students won the following individual awards:

Twenty students from Illinois Central College, East Peoria, recently earned medals in the Skills USA State Championships held in Springfield, Illinois. These students ranked among the top three in their respective competition:

The Illinois Central College Livestock Judging Team was awarded first place in the 2012 National Swine Registry Picture Judging Contest. The team competed agains 20 other university and community college teams from throughout the nation. The contest required students to place 10 classes of boars, gilts, and barrows based on photographs and performance data of the animals. Local students on the team include:

Members of the Illinois Central College Speech Team competed in the Harper College Litrenta Triangle Speech Tournament on February 19. As a team, ICC placed fourth in the overall competition. Local students competed in various categories of the competition.

The Illinois Central College Speech Team won top honors at the Phi Rho Pi national speech tournament held in Schaumburg, Illinois, April 9 - 15. The team won the gold medal in their division. More than 500 students from 58 colleges competed.

Students from Illinois Central College recently competed in the Illinois Skills USA competition held in April in Springfield. The following students received medals for placing among the top three in their respective competitions.
