East Peoria, IL (08/15/2022) — The US Economic Development Administration announces Good Jobs Challenge grant winners, including $15M award for Illinois Central College and 40 community partners.
Illinois Central College, Bradley University and Eureka College, along with 40 community partners receive once-in-a-generation funding of $15 million to develop 1,000 skilled IT employees over the next three years.
Illinois Central College, Bradley University and Eureka College will be sharing details of the IT Workforce Accelerator at the ICC Peoria Campus Student Center on Tuesday, August 16, at 9 am. This grant comes as part of the American Rescue Plan develop training programs supporting local economies and place an additional 50,000 workers in quality jobs. The IT Workforce Accelerator grant will create 1,000 new IT credentialed individuals both new to the industry workers and current IT workers who need to upskill inclusive of individuals of poverty and color.
