Nathaniel Riehl Wins Skills USA Honor

Nathaniel Riehl, of Washington, IL (61571), recently competed in Skills USA competition through Illinois Central College. ICC had 23 students earn medals at the state competition in Springfield in April. The gold medalists then earned the honor to compete at the national competition held in Kansas City, Missouri, in June.

Riehl was a state gold medal winner Computer Programming. Riehl then went on to top all of his peers at the national level, earning him the gold medal in Computer Programming.

The competition tests student knowledge and skills within technical areas of study and includes written and hands-on testing and problem-solving. Students are expected to perform the same type of work they would complete in the workplace and are evaluated based on their knowledge and technical skill within their field.
