Marta Primachenko Studies Abroad with ICC China Institute

Marta Primachenko, of Peoria, completed a 4-week study abroad experience through the Illinois Central College China Institute. Primachenko, who is a/an Biology major at ICC, was one of five students selected to study at Xiamen Huaxia located in Xiamen, China, a major coastal city in southeastern China. The students completed 12 semester hours of coursework by studying Mandarin language and Chinese culture. They also toured Beijing and visited the Great Wall.

To apply for the competitive study abroad experience, students from any major must earn a 2.75 grade point average on a 4.0 scale and must have completed 15 credits of coursework. Students are selected based on an application process and formal interview.
