Kataryna McDonald Competes for Winning Logo Design for Peoria CEO Council Program

2015 Dec 8

Kataryna McDonald, of Deer Creek, IL, recently participated in a student competition to develop logos for the launch of the Peoria CEO Council's new Greater Peoria Works Program. The competition was part of a student project for Professor David Smit's advanced graphic design class at ICC. The purpose of the Council's new program is to assist area employers in providing high school and college students 1,000 temporary, recurring jobs or work-based learning opportunities. The Council judged the student entries for their ability to reflect the program's mission to develop an educated and motivated workforce of the future.

Students had only five class periods to design and develop their logos. Each student presented three logo ideas to pitch to the client, and 10 of the 36 designs were selected for further development. The finalists then presented their designs to the Council for judging.

The Council chose Inga Anderson's design as the winner, with Emily Litherland and Kataryna McDonald tying for second place. Anderson's design will be used on the Council's website and later on marketing and promotional collateral.

Congratulations to all the students!
