Christopher Johnson Earns Honors at State SkillsUSA Competition

Christopher Johnson, of Bartonville, Ill., was one of 60 ICC students who participated in the SkillsUSA Illinois State Championships in Springfield, Ill., on April 21-23.

Twelve students earned Gold, Silver or Bronze medals, and a total of 34 students placed in the top 10 in their competitions.

Johnson earned a Silver medal in the Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning & Refrigeration competition.

In addition to their many individual wins, the chapter also won the 2016 Membership Award. This is the 16th consecutive year that ICC has reported the largest overall post-secondary membership.

Students earning Gold medals will compete in the national competition in Louisville, Ky., with advisors Kim Hawthorne and Kevin Wells in June.
