Chase Griffith Named 2014 Outstanding Grad for ICC Diesel Power Program

Chase Griffith, of Atlanta, IL, received the 2014 Outstanding Graduate Award from the Illinois Central College Diesel Powered Equipment Technology (DPET) Program.

Traditionally one award is presented each year, but three students received the honor in 2014. The award is based on scholastic achievement, community and college activities, work ethic, internship performance, communications ability, diagnostic skills, professionalism, and ability to work with others.

Students in the ICC DPET program complete two years of intensive technical training obtaining a working knowledge of the principles, methods, techniques, and skills necessary for employment as a service technician in an agricultural, industrial, heavy truck, or outdoor power equipment service center. Each graduates also completes 16 weeks of internship training as a requirement of the program.
