Illinois Central College shares exciting opportunities for Career and Technical Education Programs with leaders of 20+ Peoria community-based organizations

by Paul Moore

East Peoria, IL (11/02/2022) — There is a general community awareness that Illinois Central College Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs provide a pathway to high-demand, higher-wage jobs. Not as well-known is this: ICC offers 18 of these high-demand CTE programs in the fields of Manufacturing, Health Careers, Information Technology, and Transportation and Energy at no-cost or low-cost.

The affordability of education is of particular interest to community-based organizations (CBOs), whose clients are often on the economic margins. That's why ICC called together the leaders of more than 20 Peoria CBOs to hear how ICC is tailoring its programs and approach to meet their street-level needs.

The overview will highlight programs that include state funded, grant funded and employer funded opportunities. These programs lead to self-sustaining employment in high-demand careers.
