Illinois Central College Athletics Inducts Second Annual Hall of Fame Class

East Peoria, IL (02/02/2024) — Illinois Central College will induct two teams and three individuals to its second annual Athletics Hall of Fame in a ceremony on Saturday, February 3, 2024.

The teams being inducted are the National Championship-winning 1982 softball team, which had a record of 25-9, and the 1984 volleyball team, which had a record of 38-7 and finished the season as the NJCAA Division I Runners-Up.

Also being inducted are Cindy Stein, basketball and softball player and two-time MVP; Karen Guthmiller, longtime volleyball and softball coach; Kim Wells, volleyball player and 1984 NJCAA National Tournament MVP; and Tonya Gilles, one of the most decorated pitchers in the history of ICC softball.

Inductees will be recognized during halftime of the men's basketball game between ICC and John Wood Community College. An induction ceremony and reception will follow the game at the ICC CougarPlex.
